Camden History
The borough came into existence in 1965 through the amalgamation of the prior metropolitan boroughs of Hampstead, Holborn, and St Pancras. It was christened after Charles Pratt, the Earl of Camden, who played a pivotal role in the area’s development back in 1791. Notably, in 2012, Camden Council successfully secured funding for a substantial regeneration project in Camden Town.
