Wandsworth History
London borough of Wandsworth was formed in 1965 when the metropolitan boroughs of Battersea and Wandsworth merged. The transformation of the Nine Elms quarter on the edge of the Borough started in 2013 and is one of the biggest developments currently underway in London.
Lyondale Planning and Architecture has overseen a number of successful projects in the London borough of Wandsworth. Our team of experts have worked on a wide range of projects here, and are familiar with the Local Planning Authority.
Wandsworth Planning & Conservation Areas
Conservation areas are sites of historical or architectural importance. Building and redevelopment can be a more complex process due to more planning regulations and constraints applying within such areas. However our highly trained staff have the expertise to address more challenging planning and design issues. We achieve the aims of our clients both on an aesthetic and functional level whilst adhering to regulations set out by the local planning authority.

Wandsworth News
With regards to planning and development in Wandsworth, one of the largest developments in London is currently underway in the Borough. Named the One Nine Elms scheme and covering a massive 25 hectares there will be two mixed use tower blocks including 2978 homes, new open public spaces and the largest fresh fruit and produce market in England. Planning Permission was granted for the project in 2012 and construction is now well underway.
Another exciting project currently underway in Wandsworth is the transformation of the 7.75 acre Ram Brewery Site. The Greenland Group purchased the site in January 2014, which came complete with planning consent for 661 homes and 9,500 square metres of commercial space for new shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. A brewery museum and micro-brewery, honouring the area’s rich heritage, will also be created. The project will be done in three phases, with the first phase focusing on developing the south side of the site.
